Great apartment Positive: The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. The place has a charm and I like it's historical significance. Location is unbeatable Negative: The stairs but that's part of it and we knew before we booked so it's nothing to complain about

Too high up to enjoy the facilities when we got there Positive: It was comfortable and clean Negative: It is on the 4th floor up a spiral stone staircase, which we knew. What we didn’t know is that the are 71 steps from the outside up to the apartment. We are fit OAPS, but this was challenging after a day walking up and down stairs in Edinburgh and as a result, we didn’t want to come back during the day to face another climb. And carrying even small suitcases up was tricky. If we had known, we probably wouldn’t have booked it! We actually checked out after four days and went to another flat. Lots of apologies from the team running it, but no offer of any recompense, not that we asked for it. More info needed on the booking details please

Wonderful stay! Positive: Really cool apartment with interesting history and an excellent location.

Wonderful. Positive: We were prepared for the stairs and just took our packs to go up, and I loved the experience. The place is adorable, with great water pressure and a comfortable bed. Right off the mile, you can not get a better experience. Negative: No blackout curtains. Close, but don't forget your mask if you are sensitive to the light. Properties with long lists of house rules and directions make me really stressed out. I usually avoid them, but my husband found this, and we risked it. We were not fined, though I was emotionally uncomfortable and kept our interaction with objects to a minimum. We did not go in the kitchen.

I would say 7/10 Positive: The location was excellent. The stairs wet not as daunting as anticipated, though the advice to not bring full sized luggage should be observed. Negative: There needs to be an extract fan in the bathroom. There was superficial mold on the walls probably due to poor ventilation. The fire would not work. I couldn’t find a carbon monoxide sensor. You would be in trouble if there was a fire but I guess this is the risk you take if you want to stay in lots of places of this design. To be fair there were smoke detectors.
